Suzanne Morgan (b.1967) is a New Jersey based artist, photographer and filmmaker employing traditional materials including pastels and oils as well as thrift store finds and four legged models. Eager to uncover spirit and beauty as well as tackle exploration and disruption, Suzanne varies greatly the mediums she works with, from glass and wood to a stranger’s discarded treasures like rusted spurs, chandelier crystals and toy cars. She is ever seeking to tap into the viewer’s memory, asking them to revisit the objects and animals they think they know, and see unimagined possibilities.
After growing up in Virginia and graduating from Duke University, Suzanne won three Emmys and four Gracie Awards during her 15 years writing, editing and storytelling as a producer and director at NFL Films, Inc. She then shifted her creative course from film and television to focus on the visual arts, becoming the lead scenic artist and set designer for over 20 local theatre productions, an arts educator, and collaborator on community projects including 9 large scale glass mosaic murals created with 6-8th grade students installed in local schools. She earned a Masters in Fine Art in 2020 from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and now focuses on her individual practice in her studio, out in nature, and in the field with her horse Quarador..
